Sami and Rodger’s natural and organic, yet somehow glam (I mean, look at those two!) wedding at Barndiva in Healdsburg was SO much fun. Yes, their wedding was more than two years ago but I still vividly remember how much fun we had. We had a blast photographing it and all their guests seemed to have a blast being there - the two probably go hand in hand. They made their day about family and friends: Rodger strolled through the town of Healdsburg reminiscing with his buds, and Sami’s grandma (90 years young if I’m remembering correctly) charmed everyone while tossing petals during her walk down the aisle as the flower girl.
They were married in the intimate orchard in Barndiva’s gorgeous backyard, and Rodger’s face while watching Sami walk towards him definitely makes a case for not seeing one another until the start of the ceremony. The evening was full of epic toasts under the market lights and stars with lots of laughter, singing and guests dancing in their seats. When the dancing officially started, they brought it with a packed dance floor that lasted all night long.
When Adm and I think about the types of weddings we love photographing we always come back to real people taking in their joyous day. These two nailed it, and our only regret is that we can’t do it all over again.
