Yowza! We are already one month in to 2019, and I was hoping to have this post out ohhhh, about a month ago, but man oh man is it hard to whittle through a year’s worth of work. We had a GREAT year of weddings last year: so many moments, so much beauty, fun, and the very best couples! We’ve got another incredible year lined up (starting in just a couple of weeks), and we really do feel so grateful to be able to be part of these special days for so many people. So, THANK YOU! We’re also doing some reflecting and critiquing and for any photo geeks out there, I’m giving myself (and Adm, too) two goals for this coming year:
1. Embrace midday light. Most of our work is outside and as most photographers know, the light can be harsh and tough when it’s full sun and in the middle of the day, which means we tend to shy away from it. But, for weddings, good stuff happens at all times of the day so what better way to deal with tough light than to embrace it and figure out how to make beautiful pictures regardless of overhead high noon sun?
2. Get closer. This is always floating around in the back of my head but I’m going to consciously make an effort to get in close at weddings and then when I think I’m close enough, get just a little closer.
OK, onwards to the good stuff - some of our favorite photos from *most* of our 2018 weddings (we do have a handful of weddings with privacy clauses).
