Beth + Daniel in Santa Maria, CA

Let's be honest, we gush about our brides and grooms. We are very lucky to have great couples who we really click with on so many levels.  Beth and Dan, being among our closest friends, in our eyes are the most amazing people ever.

The day before their big day our friends had a small Catholic ceremony in Santa Maria, and we were lucky enough to photograph their intimate family gathering.  We only photographed their ceremony and a handful of portraits, but we were so happy that we were able to help contribute to their wedding.

Their big wedding that they've been planning for a year followed the next day at the Dana Powers House, and for that, we put down our cameras and partied away.  Seriously, they had one of the most fun wedding weekends ever, and we could not be more happy for two people so deserving of all the best life has to offer.  Beth and Dan, we love you guys!

Athena + Armando in Oakland, CA

We loved photographing Athena and Armando's wedding not only because Athena and Armando were so lovely to work with, but also because their wedding took place practically in our own backyard in Oakland.  For those of you who don't know, we are big-time Oakland fans, yet rarely do we get to work in our city.  So, when we learned that Athena and Armando also loved Oakland, we were super excited to photograph them all around Lake Merritt and connect over our mutual love of our town.

These two were married at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and celebrated with a reception at The Terrace Room at the Lake Merritt Hotel.  When we first scouted the Terrace Room, we immediately fell in love with its art deco design and decor, and on the day of the wedding, it was beautifully transformed by the hard work of Stacey and her team, who were wonderful to work with.  Athena and Armando, thanks so much for having us and we wish you loads of happiness!

Beth + Daniel in Santa Maria, CA

We just came off of one of the most beautiful and fun wedding weekends for our dear dear friends Beth and Daniel.  While we didn't photograph the main event, we did take pictures of their intimate church ceremony the day before, and so I wanted to share one frame of the newlyweds.  Congrats, you two!  We love you so much and had the best time at your wedding!  Happy honeymooning!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Beth's incredible dress was made by another one of our insanely talented friends, Tawny of Armour Sans Anguish.

April + Jace in Berkeley, CA

One of the main reasons we love being photographers is that we love meeting new people, having new experiences and exploring new places.  See a theme?  So, even though we were pretty familiar with the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park in Berkeley, we had never been to the Botanical Gardens just down the road.  We were super excited when April and Jace decided to do their portraits there before the ceremony - the place is a living candy store (a ten acre garden to be exact) bursting with many of California's most beautiful rare and endangered plants.  Our portrait session in the gardens, with April and Jace taking in the beauty and serenity of the trees around them, was the perfect way to start their wedding.  What followed was an incredibly intimate celebration where each guest toasted and gave their blessing to the couple.  April and Jace, we wish you many happy years!

Grace + Michael in San Francisco, CA

Sometimes I think we've never met a challenge we didn't like. So, when Grace and Michael came to us with the idea to take their wedding on the road, all we could think was how much fun it would be to have an adventure wedding.  Besides, it is the perfect wedding for photojournalists because what adventure doesn't make for a great story?

Grace and Michael wanted to make their wedding special for all of their friends, and they wanted to make it unique to them.  Originally, they had planned for a large June wedding, but when a family health issue arose, they moved their wedding to March and had to come up with a new plan quickly.  What they decided was to have a private San Francisco City Hall ceremony and then take their guests via bus to all of their favorite places in San Francisco, making toasts and sharing memories along the way.  We could go on and on about how much fun these two were to photograph, and how the light in City Hall is always so perfect, but we'll let the pictures do the talking.
