Up until last year and thanks to the severe California drought, I could have counted the number of rainy weddings we've photographed in our entire eight year career on one hand. Not only did we have a ton of rainy weddings last year, but we had our first major hailstorm during a wedding, which happened to be Amy's and Doug's at the Evergreen Lodge just outside Yosemite.
They planned a gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception, and we had big plans to take portraits in Hetch Hetchy, but all those plans went awry thanks to the massive rainstorm and hail that came down exactly 30 minutes before their ceremony. However, they forged ahead with their outdoor ceremony and like total champs endured the hail and rain for most of their vows. We never made it to Hetch Hetchy and the outdoor reception was moved indoors but we did find mini breaks in the rain to do some portraits outside near the Lodge. I love that they totally rolled with the weather (what else can you really do?) and I personally love how fresh everything looks from the rain. Check it out!
