What a day Elyse and Marco had. No, really. As soon as I arrived, Marco asked, “Did you hear? Elyse’s sister went into labor (6 weeks early) this morning!” And so, in addition to getting married, Elyse and Marco had a new (and their first!) nephew by the end of the day. The news of the baby came during the reception and the hugs and yells that emerged were just so special. I actually teared up when it happened because it felt incredible being a part of these two major life celebrations, a wedding and a baby in one day - the very best life has to offer.
Baby news aside, Elyse and Marco are pretty spectacular on their own. These two gave and received the MOST hugs of any couple we’ve ever photographed. It’s clear they know how to love and that they’re very loved by their people. I mean look at their smiles - how could you not love them? Their day was such a mix of touching moments (like during the tea ceremony) and vibrant joy (practically the whole wedding) that it really didn’t feel like work photographing them. Oh, and fun side note, they introduced us to their venue, the Presidio Yacht Club, which is such a great find! It’s got unparalleled views of the Golden Gate Bridge (as long as Karl the Fog stays away, which it did not), and the building itself has so much charm and character. If nothing else, it seems like a great spot to grab a drink and snack after a hike in the Marin Headlands - go check it out!
